JESS EDIE

JESS EDIE GOES LOVERS ROCK

Jess Edie has been round for a couple of years now making a bit of noise in the neo soul, R&B space  and then I heard her new tune T&C’s Apply  which is a dream of a tune very much in the lovers rock style that I’m a sucker for.

It seems some other slightly more influential people share my good taste  with BBC Radio 2 already picking it up for a number of plays, including the high profile Sarah Cox Breakfast Show.  And even those laid back jazzers at Jazz FM have been moved to put it on their playlist.

Strictly speaking Jess isn’t from Liverpool but she is close enough to claim her as one of ours. Also the actual record is very much made in Liverpool. The track was  co- written, recorded and produced by Steve Levine  who has been settled in his studio in the city for such a long time that he almost classes as a scouser now.

’T&C’s Apply’  could easily be a summer hit with its lovers rock infused groove blending perfectly with its message around  celebrating independence, self-worth and knowing when to walk away from anything less than you deserve.

Whatever happens I am sure we are all going to be hearing a lot more from Jess Edie.
