LIMF Academy 10 years celebration

I was lucky enough to be part of a wonderful night at an event to celebrate years of LIMF Academy.

It took place in Scale, a beautiful venue in the Fabric District, and featured some brilliant performances from Academy alumni Koj, Tee, Tonia, and xxx.  We were joined in the audience by lots of the Academy family and were treated to Ni Maxine DJing throughout the night.

There’s a brilliant  independent report available which details the success of the Academy over the last decade. All the artists testified to how much the Academy had helped them further their careers in the industry but a big standout for me was the supportive and nurturing environment that Yaw Owusu and the team created. The artists don’t just collaborate,  they actively encourage and support each other in a network which is unlike any other I’ve ever seen in what is usually such a competitive industry.

Well done to Yaw, Kate, Chloe and all the LIMF team. Here’s to the next ten years

Words by Kevin McManus.
