A girl on someone's shoulders in a crowd at a lively outdoor music event on a sunny day

ON THE WATERFRONT

The sun has got his hat on! And you know what that means don’t you? For someone gorgeous like myself, the mere hint of a bit of sunshine means it is time to get those shorts on and  give my lovely, toned legs an outing.

The only thing that can make my day even better is watching live music outdoors while showcasing my lovely limbs at the same time.

While taking in the rays I’ll be plonking myself near the front of the stage to watch all the great artists featuring on the Pier Head stage at this year’s On The Waterfront. In fact , like a proper fan, I’ll be there as soon as the doors open at 5pm on Thursday because Keyside – my favourite guitar-band of the moment – are on stage at 5:30pm. If you have never seen them, grab the chance and get there early like me. They will be headlining festivals like this very soon!

The Wombats, a band of three men, sat on the floor in a white room

Thursday is headlined by local legends, The Wombats. Even if you aren’t sure about The Wombats, you will know a surprising number of their hits and their live shows are always entertaining.

Friday is an Irish takeover with The Wolfe Tones. They are billing it as their farewell tour, but I’m pretty sure they have been saying that for the last ten years or so! Irrespective of that, you can guarantee that they will go down an absolute storm here in the honorary capital of Ireland. I might even have a small glass of stout to get in the mood, although, obviously folk, please drink sensibly and keep hydrated. I always find that a strategically placed baseball cap and plenty of water keeps my fair Irish skin immaculate in these conditions.

Saturday is even more of a party day with Cream Classics featuring a whole roster of DJs from the glory days of the world famous club night.

If you have any energy left, some Geordie called Sting will be doing his thing and there’s a Liverpool presence in the line up courtesy of The Christians.

So, you have no excuses. The sun will be shining, there will be amazing music and it’s right on your doorstep.
