RADIO 1’S BIG WEEKEND SPOTLIGHT – KOJ

Koj isn’t here to chase trends – he’s here to challenge the system.

Performing this Saturday on the BBC Introducing stage, the Liverpool-based rapper brings a raw, purpose-driven energy that’s impossible to ignore. With influences ranging from NWA to Bob Marley and the Sex Pistols, Koj blends political urgency with personal truth, carving out space for reflection, resistance, and realness.

He’s driven by a desire to inspire – especially young men navigating life without role models. “I didn’t know I could be the man I am now,” he says. “But I work relentlessly to get 1% better every day. Little by little.” His music is rooted in growth, self-awareness, and pushing back against an industry that often forgets its soul.

With lyrical precision and a presence that commands attention, Koj is a villain with a conscience – and his Big Weekend debut is set to be one of the most powerful moments of the festival.
