OUT AND ABOUT – DECEMBER 2024
Out and About: a visual diary of what’s happening in Liverpool. Each month, four of Liverpool’s finest photographers share photos of what they’ve been up to over the past four weeks, from live gigs and art exhibitions, to panels, artist portraiture and more.
For December, we catch up with the incredibly talented Marieke Macklon, Kolade Ladipo and Luke Bryant.
Glaswegian-born self taught freelance photographer, colour grader and music video director Marieke has over 15 years professional experience within the industry. Specialising in music and portrait photography, alongside documentary and music videography, Marieke works with a wide range of musicians, from independent artists to labels such as Sony, Polydor and Dominos. She is also head of the official Green Man Photo Team since 2018, as well as team leader for brand new Manchester-based festival Beyond The Music.
Marieke shares with us some stunning portraits of a range of Merseyside-based musicians: Bill Ryder Jones, I See Rivers, Lazygirl, PIXEY and one of herself.

Hecaptured is a space for photography, creative direction and movement direction created by actor, dancer and model Kolade T Ladipo. He expresses his vision of capturing art, bodies and faces in different forms and areas of life, including music, editorial and more.
Liverpool-based photographer Luke has been documenting the scene for years. His work has focussed on identity, beauty, underground culture, music and more.
“For me it’s always been about the people, and the best people are in Liverpool. Landscapes and still lifes don’t excite me really. If I’m able to capture someone’s real character and their authentic self, then I think that’s the whole mission. If I’m able to put my spin on that – where my vision and their brilliance combine – then that’s what makes it special. My style and ability has evolved within Liverpool and I wouldn’t be where I am without this place.”
